Tunerview

12-24-09 - RSX Tunerview is alive

I received the fixed Kpro module from JR and HRTuning.com on Monday the 21st. Thanks for the repair!

My Dad rewired the power to the Tunerview. Per this post I had him make sure to wire it into a "switched ignition source". It took a bit of research but in the end Dad said he used the power source from the cruise control.

Once the wiring was done I got in there and mounted the Kpro module box beneath the Tunerview. Then I did some cable management to make sure the wires don't interfere with the RSX's cup holder/tray. I used a 1 foot USB extension cable to extend the Kpro module box to the passenger side floor board so that I can still connect the ECU to my laptop anytime we do some tuning or data logging.

I've noticed that in cold weather the Tunerview screen response time is absolutely horrible. We're talking 1 second from pixel on to pixel off. (Look closely on the third image to see what I mean) This makes fast changing numbers unreadable. As the car interior warms up, this seems to get better. To help with this situation I've slowed down the update time for the Tunerview to the slowest possible setting. It's not a deal breaker, this is still an awesome product but I wouldn't mind seeing a version with a higher quality LCD screen.

12-11-09 - RSX Tunerview Install

Today Mike from One of a Kind Customs came by and installed my custom fabricated double din surround - he did an amazing job, very pleased.

The Tunerview is made by HRTuning here is a link:

Unfortunately when we went to turn it on for the first time the power regulator in the K-Pro interface module popped. Jr, at HRTuning is going to try to fix it for me. Hopefully it all works out, I'm still optimistic.
