7-25-2010 - Some maintenance and experimentation

Installed my Torco RTF today. Hopefully it'll do it's job well. Will drive the car tomorrow so we'll see if it's smooth or not.

Also replaced the cabin filter, exciting, yes...lol

Decided the pull the top dogbone and paint it black, I've never cared for the blah off-white color of it.

In the pursuit of eliminating my hot starting issues, I've been doing some research. One of my theories is that the fuel is boiling from the engine temperature after the car sits for a while. I know it's a long shot, but I decided to coat the fuel rail in the same heat reflective foil that I used on the firewall to see if it helps the fuel stay cooler. It probably won't work, but it was an excuse to use up the rest of it for something constructive.

7-21-2010 - little stuffs

Got my (new to me) rear camber arms from Nick @8thcivic.com. I can tell they've been on a lowered car, but otherwise they look phenomenal for the price I paid. Thanks Nick!

Also received my Torco RTF. Hopefully this stuff saves my tranny and keeps it happy for years to come. At $42 for 2 bottles, it had better.

7-17-2010 - Hagg lake in the dark

You might not believe it, but these photos were taken at 12am. It was so dark I was stumbling over stuff. The pulp mill on the other side of the dam combined with the brilliant starry sky, made just enough light paint the car. The two bright photos were 4-5 minute exposures. The streaks in the paint are actually the reflection of stars in the paint as the earth rotated during the exposure.

To see the rest of the pix taken go here.

6-11-2010 - Sick and tired of the stench

Sludge be damned! I don't want to smell the stench of my car when I'm sitting still. Running a breather filter off the valve cover should be criminal. After a week of headaches from the awful noxious fumes, it was time for a solution. The fix? A plastic T from baxters, a 5/8" npt fitting and some hose.

Problem solved, now the only smell I get is the un-catalyzed fuel smell from the back of the car. That one I'm used to and rarely enters the cabin anyways. At some point I do need to put a true catch can back into the car, the sludge build up isn't good for the turbo.

I also upgraded to new NGK BKR9EIX spark plugs. It was time to replace them, and the 9's are 2 steps colder than stock... seems to allow me to run a smidge more timing than I did before. Still have to keep them gapped at .020" to keep the misfires away at high boost / rpm.

Added - 6-5-2010 - Late night car shoot

Took some photos with Adam and Justin of the cars.

Added - 5-12-2010 - Forged Performance Dyno Day

Rolled out to the Forged Performance dyno day with a few peeps. Got some shots of Allen's RSX.

Ran my car on their mustang dyno, made 323 hp 264 tq.

Added - 5-2-2010 - Intake Mods

Mmmm, sludge. This is what happens when you don't have a catch can.

Upgraded to a 3" intake, relocated the IAT sensor to the charge pipe right before the TB, wrapped all my IC piping in armaflex...yay!

6-5-2010 - Night Shoot

Jay, Justin and I were hanging out and decided to roll over to the empty end of a business park and snap some night shots of the cars.

5-7-2010 - PIR Videos

My 12 second passes

VitViper's kills

5-7-2010 - PIR late night drags - 12's!

They said it couldn't be done....12's on the OEM all season tires and the STOCK clutch (and I didn't blow it up...haha).

Rolled out to PIR with Adam, met up with Vit (VitViper) and Allen (The Russian). Had a blast watching Vit and Allen race each other over and over...lol.

I managed to hit my goal, twice. 12.962 @ 114mph and 12.977 @ 112mph.

I think I'm done dragging the car until I have an upgraded clutch and some slicks. Then it'll be all about the 11's.

We took a ton of pix and video. Will have to edit all of that before it can be posted, I'll just post my slips for now.
