1-12-2010 - Converting the PCV to a Catch can breather

Not a big fan of breather setups, but I guess the turbo mandates it. Picked up all these parts from Home Depot / Baxters.

Finding a fitting locally for the PCV system is basically impossible (due to it being a large metric thread), so I just made my own out of a spare PCV valve. Put it in a vice, put a tap down the middle of it on the barb end and hit it with a sledge. All the PCV parts pop out the back of it... filed down the resultant cracked edges on the back of the valve till it was smooth. Presto, perfect fitting for my breather. ;-)

I wanted this to go somewhere reasonably out of sight... chose to tuck it behind the headlight. Don't want to clutter up my engine bay with a bunch of random crap. I think it turned out reasonably clean.
